Swing and a Miss, Again

Before I get back to my regularly scheduled diatribe, something has to be addressed. I haven't been able to watch the news in the last couple of days (and what I've seen has been Cho, Cho, Cho), but I have the sinking feeling that we haven't been addressing this enough. I know that a couple of representatives have criticized the Honorable Senator Reid, but if your'e not a Montana hermit you should have repeatedly, over and over, and redundantly heard an actual barrage of criticism like:

"I know the Senator means well, but after he said that Zarqawi must be doing backflips in his grave."

"If Reid were alive during WWII, he would have declared that the start of the Battle of the Bulge meant D-Day was a failure."

"Yes, what happened in Iraq was awful, and I share the Senator's sense of mourning, But the Honoralbe Mr. Reid needs to recognize that he's saying exactly what the bombers hoped he would."

And after Reid responds, we should repeat it again, making sure the debate is about American defeatism helping the enemy instead of "Bush's failed policies."

I've gone over this before, but I'm sure our experts in Washington have a better plan in mind.

After all, considering the current sky-high support for the war, who could possibly quesiton Republican political strategy? Just because people like Harry Reid say exactly what terrorists want them to say without any sense that there might be a political consequence, why should anyone be concerned?

Yeah, after they make egregious comments like this, let's just have three or four of us say we disagree, find ourselves accused of heaving forth a "barrage of criticism," and then let it drop. Why should Harry Reid suffer any political blowback for inspiring our enemy? After all, his intentions are noble, and we're sure he really supports our troops, so it's much nicer to be gentle with Senator Reid than to actually support our troops by sticking up for them.

Most Democrats are dumb enough to think that playing nice will work with terrorists. Most Republicans are dumb enough th think that playing nice will work with Democrats.

Wrong on both counts.

The Bunnies,
Ahhh… Mr. Reid. That’s the spirit.
I concur, The Bunnies. Hear, hear.
Remember the word treason? What exactly does that apply to now if not this traitor, Reid?
I’m confused.

BTW, it’s bugging me…where does ‘The Bunnies’ come from?

I like ‘Rush’ listed first in you music category. Before Beethoven? That’s quite a statement you’ve made there… (fellow Rush fan here, but you may be a bigger one by that order :-)

I will address the issue of my identity at a later time. I understand your curiosity, but my explanation requires that I familiarize my readers with the numerous parallels between the tragic writings of the turn of the last ceitury (Hardy, Wharton, etc.)the oppression of the Huguenots, and the early development of the internal combustion engine. To me, the parallels are obvious, but I fear that most of my readers will not find it so, and without at least a rudimentary understanding of the aforementioned comparisons, why I am The Bunnies will make no sense to any of you.

I listed my favorite musical artists in no particular order. Each of them speaks to a different part of me--Rush to my brain, Johnny Cash to my heart, and Ludwig to my tail. I would not be who I am today without this Holy Trinity of inspiration, for each is fundamental to my Essence. (Guns N' Roses appealing to my paws, and Ray Charles, who speaks to my lungs, are among those I have refrained from listing; these parts of me don't matter as much)

However, I commend your interest and will satisfy your curiosity when I think you're (in the aggregate, of course) ready.

I understand the privacy thing. And this: “numerous parallels between the tragic writings of the turn of the last century (Hardy, Wharton, etc.) the oppression of the Huguenots, and the early development of the internal combustion engine” certainly sounds interesting. I think I’d enjoy seeing those connections worked out.

But my interest in “The Bunnies” was not meant as an invasion of privacy – I didn’t think you were protecting anything, but took it almost as ‘an inside joke’ or something like that. It reminds me of something I read awhile back related to ‘phantom memories’. Found that concept interesting at the time (still do), and a little funny too. Not sure if you’ve heard of it.

I understand the need to prepare the foundation – been doing a bit (maybe too much) of that on my sites.

Ahhh I enjoyed this too: “Rush to my brain”.
Not many of us out there. Unfortunate for them.
BTW, have you read my latest post at my site:

The song I’m referring too is a Rush song. Interested if from the little scraps I left could you tell which one.

RE an explanation of ‘The Bunnies’. I’m sure I can handle the shock 
If it’s not a long explanation or you want to send a couple of clues and see what I come up with – send me an email: ricky_raccoon@sbcglobal.net

Mr. Bunnies:

Glad you didn’t take offense RE your identity.
It seems it may be for similar reasons as why I’m ‘undercover’.
Where I live, work and play – it just wouldn’t go over so well…so better to just stay a little bit anon for now.
I’m not trying to be mysterious. Just enjoying speaking to like minds which I apparently don’t get to do enough of during the day.

You said: “for you are of a different Order than I (although we are of the same Class)”
Not sure what that means. Help me out if you don’t mind.
BTW, your way of speaking is giving me a bit of a spooky vibe. Not meaning to offend with that either. Just saying…

RE the “phantom memories” was something I read in a Whitly Striber (sp?) book a million years ago about alien abductions. A little embarrassed but like I said I think it’s funny now and I thought maybe we shared an inside joke. Phantom memories may be quickly explained as an actual memory of an abduction that is replaced with a happy memory (although a memory perhaps just as bizarre). A memory of say being surrounded by aliens would be replaced, by them in you, with a memory of being surrounded by little cute bunnies…who (would oddly enough) you may still remember as having really long fingers and really big eyes.
